System76 built Pop!_OS for “creators.” Of course, when tech people say “creators,” they generally mean developers. However, this distribution’s appeal to creators goes well beyond devs. I’m a writer, and I use Pop!_OS regularly.

The important thing to understand is that you can download one of two versions of the OS: one for AMD GPUs and one for Nvidia GPUs. When using AI (especially local AI), the best route is via an Nvidia GPU. Most AI systems are built specifically for AMD hardware. If you don’t have an Nvidia GPU, your AI will run in CPU mode, which is exponentially slower.

I've found AI to be a skill issue multiplier for myself, by the time I'm deep enough in the rabbit hole to be asking AI to fix a bad idea I can't salvage it presents me with somehow brilliant even worse ideas that still don't solve the problem (because it's not well defined enough)
