It's so great that millionaire tv and movie directors get these chances to write comic books when there are huge landmark issues that can pay them 100x what the normal comic writer gets. How else would they ever get to tell THEIR stories?

The gripping Batman: The Animated Series episode "Two-Face, Part One" debuted on this day (Sept. 25) in 1992. This tense two-parter starts strong, and features some great animation here, as Harvey Dent struggles against but tragically succumbs to Big Bad Harv! #BatmanTAS #Batman

Spider-Man Unlimited creator Will Meugniot has been responding to fans on facebook with some cool facts about the show. Why it was so weird and didn't have anything Spidey like in it, if it was Spider-Man 2099 inspired, how Deathlock was nearly in the show, how it nearly got a season 2, and others:

I still don't consider that ending a "cliffhanger", but hey, the fans have been wanting this, so congrats to them! I'm curious to see how it compares to the proposed script from a decade or so ago.

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"

Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.

How one single character's death can sabotage an ENTIRE film/franchise. They should've realized the mistake instantly and course-corrected, with the stinger being Mako emerging kicking the flaming door to that helicopter TICKED OFF. JUST LIKE Chau in the prior film surviving a ridiculous death.

It's the same thing as the show: Sony owns the rights to it and Marvel won't pay just to use characters they already own. Weisman did write a Spider-Man run a couple of years ago that sadly ended due to waning sales. It's not the show, but it has some nods to it and it was pretty fun.

Gargoyles is such a fantastic example of the fact that you don't just have to keep recycling old IP if you want to build an audience. This cartoon emerged feeling so fully-formed and so confident in its storytelling that it remains a strong influence on fantasy animation to this day.
