Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 3hThis is the basis of a much more rational approach to enforcing dangerous driving. The dangerous act itself needs zero tolerance, not just the times it manifests into physical harm.👇 071
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 3hYeah agree with a lot of that. In reality that 10yr sentence will only be 5 served & for a low risk offender most likely a lot of it in an ‘open’ prison so it isn’t unduly harsh. We need driving bans for ‘lessor’ offences to be much more common with long bans for repeat offenders. 350
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 4hIt is almost as if ‘the right to drive’ is a human right. No. You so grossly abuse that privilege and take a life, you should never drive again. 170
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 5hThis story is so sad. Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026So crap. A handful of cyclists and clearly you’re going to get fully stuck in the separated section on the left then needing to cut across the motor traffic that’s already moving to go right. Horrendous & no way in hell I’d let my kids do that so it just isn’t inclusive. 020
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Why even go there? It is perfectly possible to condemn the Israeli government, its war crimes, settler occupation and genocide without invoking any culturally complex principle. This is how we condemn other states that disregard international law. But as you say that doesn’t achieve their aims. 110
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026You may be comfortable with the proposer saying force is needed to shun Jews around the world in order to impose a particular solution for Palestine but I find it extremely dark & worrying & working against a viable peace & coexistence. Not gonna say anymore we’ll have to agree to disagree. 110
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026The motion defines Zionism against their beliefs & regardless of them & it becomes a purity test of their acceptance & participation even to the point that association with community organisations can be used to shun them. 110
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Zionism has no personal cultural significance to me. But my Jewish friends tell me its meaning to them is merely a desire for a safe nation in the historical homeland of Jewish people. That is not in any way comparable to the KKK (& that comparison itself is IMO racist). 1/ 210
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Again. Some Zionists are. So your argument is to copy their racism? You seem blind to the fact you are just arguing for more racism from an opposing side. Tarnishing all with a simplistic definition you have imposed upon them is racism too. Stop the genocide. BDS. But stop this grim antisemitism. 220
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026If the question is ’are some zionists racists’? Definitely the answer is yes. But that isn’t all the motion or its supporters are saying. 000
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Also Wikipedia: ‘Zionist views have varied over time and are not uniform, resulting in a variety of types of Zionism. The Zionist mainstream has historically included Liberal, Labor, Revisionist, and Cultural Zionism…’ But you get to define it, use it to purity-test an ethnic group. Ok. 220
Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 08/10/2026The genocide racism & war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli gvt are reprehensible. It is also racist to impose a simplistic definition of a culturally complex concept targetted at a single ethnic group & use it as a moral purity test. 131

Rich @hoxtonrich.bsky.social · 23/09/2026To be fair, most industries now follow this broad approach, to varying degrees of compliance. The outlier is road transport, which treats mass death casualties & destruction with a shrug & just carries on with the same deadly systems. 1134
