I’m going to share a deep cut Osaka recommendation: the 9F forum section of the Hankyu department store in Umeda. There’s open terraced seating if you need to rest, a Marufuku Coffee, a gelato/crepe cafe, and frequently some kind of fun pop-up event.

Selling a bike in Japan. Is there any situation in which you wouldn’t want to immediately transfer the bike to the purchaser? Can you do the paperwork in advance and then sell it so you don’t have to do the exchange at a bike shop?

I don’t think Americans will ever give up their full sized ovens, but I do wonder what they would think if they knew how versatile a good Japanese microwave oven is. You could really save a lot of kitchen space.

I’ve had tinnitus off and on since around 2009. I think it might be related to over exertion while running back then but I’m not sure. Similarly looked into it without much headway. It comes and goes but I’ve mostly gotten used to it. Not much help unfortunately. I do think good sleep helps the most

4.5 months into the new cycling laws. Still mostly no changes here in Osaka. Maybe a higher percentage of folks in full rain suits without umbrellas, but people still break out the umbrellas. I guess there are fewer obaasan with their parasols out. That's been the biggest impact.
