strategic political capture of the court has, for 40 years, been a one-way ratchet. among other things, this has inculcated a sense among conservatives that they can act with virtual impunity. showing them that their opponents will play hardball is a necessary first step toward a better status quo.

A tit for tat cycle with every trifecta certainly isn’t ideal and we do no need to think about ways out of that. But at least that’s a Court where one party’s control isn’t perpetually self-entrenched until enough randomly timed convenient deaths short circuit the partisan timed retirement game.

IANAL so this is not a comment on the correctness of the ruling. I hate it though. The cubs could build a wall, or make their park a dome. Of course the quaint confines of Wrigley being in the city is part of their lore and appeal so they don’t want to. This was one of the cool quirks 1/2

Science has had the use of “AI” and “ML” almost my entire career (I’m almost eligible for AARP) and yet cancer is not cured and the time to market is relatively unchanged for drugs as a whole. In fact some data suggests it’s higher now!
