it's funny, they think they need to be nice to a superintelligence that doesn't yet exist because they think it can kill them. they don't think they need to be nice to all the other intelligent lifeforms around them because...they presume we can't kill them.

Their model was based on the growth of certain tumors. How they forced new capillaries to support them, and how too rapid growth in some parts could choke off essential nutrients.

Nethar6 @herrnethar6.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Their work seemed sound to me, and I'd love to see it tested to a statistically relevant degree. But without grand money for researcher salaries and big computer models, they had to find work on another project instead

Nethar6 @herrnethar6.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Someone I knew had an intersting research propsal that sadly didn't get funding. Their hypotesis was that settlements and city grow under the same basic pressures as organic tissues, matching rivers/wells to major blood vessels and and roads/buildings to capilaries and specialised cells

Some infographics about consent that really need to be mandatory education

The CRISP model of Consent: the acronym stands for
Considered
Reversible
Informed
Specified
Participatory

The FRIES model of Consent, the Acronym stands for:
Freely Given
Reversible
Informed
Enthusiastic
Specific

CONSENT
"Consent is the completely mindful, willing, and uncoerced choice to say yes, and the ability to revoke that yes at any time without fear of repercussions."

I do, first practiced painting on my surviving minis from the 90s. I did manage to get the Remastered not long after it came out, and got all but 2-3 of the Expansions. But some sculpts are just better in classic, like the Chaos Warrior, Skeletons, and Femir

Green Dragons are so interesting, they get such a unique personality profile that really helps them stand out. I'm really happy with how the painting ended up on this mini, but regrettably the support has warped over time, making the pose a bit wonky. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

A custom painted miniature of a Green Dragon. They have green scaly skin, a yellow underbelly, black claws, white teeth, a pink inner mouth and tongue, and yellow eyes. They also have light green membranes on their wings, the back of their jaws, and the crest along their head, neck, and back. Their wings also have dark green mottled markings on the top of their wing membranes. They are posed in flight, swooping down with their body pointed straight down. Their wings are stretched out to the sides, their tail is curved upwards, and their head is curved upwards and to the right. Their mouth is open and their tongue is snaking out. The ground beneath them is brown dirt, dotted with gray stones and clumps of green grass.

A back view of the Green Dragon's mini, showing off their claws, tail, and underbelly.

A side angle view of the Green Dragon's mini, showing off their wings, claws, and base.

A close-up view of the Green Dragon's mini, showing off their face, neck, and crest.
