A change from my Giant theme, but it felt wrong not to follow up the old-school version with the new Merrow. Rather than an aquatic Ogre, they are depicted as corrupted Merfolk. While there are a lot of Flesh Golem minis out there, I found the official ones didn't quite meet the size I was looking for. This big fella captured the design I wanted, a hulking brute made of layers of stitched together bodies. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

When I originally painted a Displacer Beast, I went with a more true purple color. I wasn't happy with those results, so when the chance came to paint another one, I chose to go with more of a cool blue-purple color. I am much happier with this pallet! #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

My next monster for August is the Bulette, the infamous D&D land shark. The gray and brown pallet for them could easily come off as boring, but I think between the texture details and the dynamic pose of the mini, this one came out pretty interesting. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

This is a fun take on a Gnome Cleric I did a while back. While I mostly stick to the Wizkid minis or custom designs, every now and again I go with other brands. This was one of a set of three Gnomes that I liked. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

Before I had easy access to 3D printed custom minis, I had to make do with what I could find. This Gnome Warrior was used for a Bard my sister played in a one-shot I ran for my family. Not the worst interpretation I could have done! #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

While wizards seem like the more natural fit for dwarves, this Dwarf Sorcerer makes for a pretty good figure. I like the combinations of gold and orange, though the latter is not a color I normally associate with the Dwarven ascetics. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

Following up the juvenile from the other day with my fully grown adult Kraken! I feel like between the barnacles and all the spikes, you can really feel the age and menace of this one. An older paint job, but ine that I feel holds up pretty well! #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

Moving into a scorching July with a cool, aquatic creature. This Juvenile Kraken is a bit simple, but is a good hint at the nightmare to come when they reach adulthood. #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #minis #minipainting

A custom painted miniature of a Juvenile Kraken. They have greenish skin on thier squid-like body, with serated fins on either side of their mantle and a blue-gray serated fin on the top of it. They have two large, red eyes with horizontal pupils, and their eight long arms have dirty white spikes lined up at the end of them. They are posed swimming at an angle, their head mantle higher and their arms lower, with thier body held up by a column of water.
