It was just me and some sheep - and a glorious morning on Caer Caradoc, near Church Stretton. Follow me on a walk that takes in Caractacus’s Cave and spectacular views of the Long Mynd, the Lawley, Hope Bowdler, Ragleth, Helmeth, Hazler and the Wrekin. #Shropshire

My lovely grandad was born #OTD in 1905. His parents were from Devon and Gloucestershire and he was born in Hertfordshire (where his father was working as an estate gardener). They moved to St Martins #Shropshire where he grew up. He was a Colliery Deputy/Fireman at Ifton Colliery. #genealogy

Seven years ago today was the most stressful day of my life - our son's 7 hour spinal fusion operation to correct scoliosis. Forever thankful to the wonderful Mr Davidson and the RJAH Hospital 💕

Yet another morning when my alarm went off at 4.40am. I made my way to Ludlow yesterday and this was the view from Whitcliffe Common at sunrise, with a flight of geese above the castle. On the horizon is Brown Clee and its summit of Abdon Burf, veiled in mist. #shropshire

I have an elusive great-aunt Nora Johson. In my nan's birthday book it says "Nora's wedding 28.09.49". Can't find a marriage. In the 1939 Register it has the marriage date & Rothwell & NR230 NxS. Google says this means a name change other than marriage. The mystery deepens #genealogy #FamilyHistory
