🧬 Very excited to share another first author preprint from my PhD. 🧬 Here we show that reduced 4EBP1 leads to acquired Capivarsertib resistance via increased cap-dependent protein synthesis.

Very excited to have submitted my first author from my postdoc. We demonstrate that the 9-1-1 complex safeguards BRCA2-deficient cells from lethal ssDNA gap accumulation by suppressing PRIMPOL-dependent gap formation, restraining EXO1 degradation and promoting POLζ-mediated filling.

This is a blatant violation of the 1st Amendment but a lot of cowards in academia will use this as an excuse to crack down on campus protest.
This image is a screenshot of a social media post from an account named "Donald J. Trump" (@realDonaldTrump). The post states that federal funding will be stopped for any college, school, or university that allows illegal protests. It further mentions that agitators will be imprisoned or deported, American students will be expelled or arrested, and that masks will not be allowed. The post has engagement metrics showing 1.61k "ReTruths" and 5.81k "Likes," and it is timestamped March 4, 2025, at 7:30 AM. The profile picture of the account features an American flag design over a circular object.

If all their previous actions don't destroy scientific research in the U.S., this one, which seeks to modify or terminate grants and contracts, including those to educational institutions, will certainly do so. It's so sad that those who have benefited from the system now seek to destroy it.

Glad to see Bertagnolli speaking out 🧪
Screen shot of post from Monica Bertagnolli stating “It is understandable that a new administration would pause some of the activities of an agency as new leaders are put in place and new priorities are set in motion. However, preventing NIH from issuing research funding by stopping ongoing grant proposal reviews and the work of congressionally mandated advisory committees required for final funding approval, even temporarily, can have a devastating effect on our nation’s longer term research productivity and success.”
