Cancer treatment is the tip of the ice berg. Families with disabled kids have struggled due to the cruelty of the current government policies. Disability is usually less politically visible, though it has been this term due to the fear that policy changes has instilled in families.

The @savesciencenz.bsky.social election policy scorecard is out. Responses were requested from every party invited to the SSC pre-election forum. We think it makes for pretty clear reading. A PDF copy and a recording of the forum itself are linked at the top of our website - scientists.org.nz
A scorecard showing the responses of all parties in Parliament and Opportunity to science policy questions based on the Save Science Coalition's pre-election asks. ACT and National provided no responses, NZ First and Te Paati Maaori provided two, and the Greens, Labour, and Opportunity responded to all questions.

But in the 60s, even being poor, we didn't go hungry and there were no rough sleepers. It is a choice in this day and age to have up to a third of the population facing food insecurity. Many people are way better off financially now, but off the backs of the many who are more deprived than the 1960s

The starving of the towns and cities outside of NZ’s main half dozen is a great crime of the last 40 years – while places like Auckland just bloat and spread endlessly. Thank goodness one party is think about what they can offer the whole country – and how we all win from that.

Because of gender and ethnic pay gaps in Aotearoa, Pacific women are now working for free until the end of the year. This election year, we need to vote for pay equity. It’s the only way to make sure that all working people are respected, valued, and paid what they’re owed. #nzpol
