i check ORESTAR like it’s Instagram, and Jon Isaacs was real busy last night! $100,000 contribution from the Big Papa (United for Portland) to United for Portland Action Fund filed last night but transaction date is 10/7. Transaction ID: 5879839.

yeah this Corcoran guy is weird. it’s not that the treasurer position is more than paperwork, but why become treasurer for two PACs that you don’t somewhat support? why do that? because if the answer is money, there is still a problem here. that is a very specific job to seek out.

Portland media and their business lords pretending to care about decorum when it’s time for election season, but only for the women of color up for reelection? sounds about white! Crickets when it comes to Dunphy, Ryan, Novick, and Zimmerman, who all speak their minds and get called witty for it.

When people talk about being “Portland nice” this is a grade A example of it. Shaming people who have any ounce of nerve or individuality. Settling for mediocrity. Criticizing the most effective legislators because they do not fall in line. Dripping with sanctimony and palpable contempt.

only local news endorsement so far that i respect, even with the Novick endorsement. D3 is an incumbents’ race, much as Wilson and Ryan might hope otherwise with their chosen candidate, Kellie Torres. personally don’t think you should rank Torres or Novick! i won’t be!

woke up to this bullshit in my inbox. The local papers are making it very clear where they stand — with the realtors and the business class, baby! also this is so so personal for Willamette Week staff. Pretty much every paragraph about Councilor Morillo feels lifted out of Sophie Peel’s diary.

I respect the choices. As a D3 voter, I am not ranking Torres or Novick at all. I don’t want him re-elected and I won’t take the chance that my #3 will get booted and a vote goes to him. He’s not the worst on council (pls D4, get rid of Clark & Zimmerman!) but I don’t think he reps me or my family.

Technically, they do have three business days to file the organization under state law. They are trying to be more careful this time. ORS 260.035 "(1) Not later than the third business day after a political committee first receives a contribution or makes an expenditure". I'm watching though.

Kellie Torres was directly involved in the infamous backroom deal with Zenith Energy while Chief of Staff for Dan Ryan. She was lobbied directly by Zenith and the Working Waterfront Coalition. If you want more fossil fuel industry domination in local politics, Torres has experience with that.

Yep, Council moderates wouldn't even back Kanal 4, the final amendment which was to simply say that the negotiating team should seek a return on investment for Portlanders in the Moda deal. Green: "Portlanders are watching, and they are pretty upset at the way we steward their funds in this City."🔥

A shocking mtg Many councilors refusing to even *consider* term sheet amendments (like below) that would better protect Portlanders, require a breakdown of how $120M+ in public funds would be used, or analyze impact of Moda Center funding on other city services All voted down without discussion
