Hamed @hamedbh.bsky.social · 31/03/2026This is spot on. I think people believe this because it’s actually less scary and/or more believable than the alternative: the apps don’t need to listen to you through your phone to target ads. 2190

Hamed @hamedbh.bsky.social · 19/02/2026It also becomes a problem of car companies start to cut costs in those remote monitoring centres: plenty of evidence that such a thing could happen! 100
Hamed @hamedbh.bsky.social · 19/02/2026Yeah I assume so too. But if people have something that’s billed as “full self-driving” then they’re probably going to be less responsive to those circumstances. I’d like for the roads to be safer, I just am sceptical about whether software plus remote monitoring centre is an improvement overall. 110
Hamed @hamedbh.bsky.social · 19/02/2026Can’t speak for everyone, but to me the issue isn’t with people being involved. It’s firstly that their involvement is tucked away and obscured, so the presentation of the tech isn’t honest. Secondly it transfers human oversight from person in the car to person in an office far away. 110
