@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social You're doing a great. Doubling artist grants from $5k to $10k is a bold move, and evidence points to the next step: guaranteed, recurring income. Ireland's artist basic income returned €1.39 for every €1 spent and is permanent. South Korea plans to follow. Scotland too.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we acknowledge and reflect on the deep intergenerational harm residential schools have caused to Indigenous families and communities. Art by Elaine Landry #OrangeShirtDay #EveryChildMatters #TruthAndReconciliation

A handprint on an orange background. The handprint is broken into segments, inside of which are different symbols representing elements of Indigenous culture, including animal paw prints, landscapes with trees, and other images drawn from nature. There is a large black eagle feather on the left side of the handprint, and bird silhouettes appear in the upper left hand corner of the image. The words EVERY CHILD MATTERS appear at the bottom of the piece.

Scientists and experts warned COVID could spread through airborne aerosols, but infection-control leaders relied on outdated views of aerosol transmission. The assumption that COVID couldn’t be airborne was a mistake, based on thinking already described as illogical in a 2006 SARS Commission report.

A screenshot of a CTV News online article headline reads, "'Outdated' health policies surrounding Covid still pose a danger today, says U of C researcher." The byline attributes the piece to Tommy Osborne, published September 18, 2026, at 6:23 p.m. EDT.
Below the headline is a photograph of a male researcher, identified in the caption as Dr. Mark Ungin. He is wearing a white lab coat and a white face mask while walking through a brightly lit laboratory room. The lab environment is crowded with scientific instruments, including a complex robotic testing assembly with a Formlabs 3D printer sitting on a foreground workbench, storage shelving filled with cardboard boxes, and various desktop laboratory tools stretching into the background.
The caption text underneath the photograph reads: "Dr. Mark Ungin is raising concerns surrounding health policy and Canada’s COVID response."
