I wake up obnoxiously early in summer (really I'm ashamed to admit how early on main) and as much as 2 hours later in winter because the sun rises later in winter! WHICH IS HOW BODIES WORK Instead of shifting the clock we should shift the workday based on seasons.

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

Amateur tip for US homeowners. If you ever need anything done on your house, sewer, HVAC whatever, get bids in early September. Turns out it's the slow season because the kids are back in school and parents are too busy to schedule stuff so you can get good deals and prompt service.

Some former colleagues of mine did this, and then discovered they had forgotten to enquire about the seal's holiday plans.

When the elephant seal was tagged on Signy Island, it was hoped that this animal would range deeply into the ice-covered Weddell Sea in winter, thereby providing data from a region inaccessible to ships and from which very few hydrographic measurements have been collected.
