I've been a member of the same leisure centre for years. This evening I saw an AI poster for a new spin class and my instant reaction was "oh no, but I don't want to cancel my membership!"

The three most Faithful-coded contestants IMHO are James Acaster, Hannah Fry and James Blunt. It would be very funny if they *all* ended up as Traitors. #CelebrityTraitors

Flabbergasted to learn there's not a single country in the world where people get to control access to their own health records. www.linkedin.com/pulse/we-che...

We checked 198 countries. In none of them do you hold the keys to your own health record.
Most of us think we own our health records because there’s an app for that. I thought so too.

Yeah I'm going to have to measure the ones I've already got, which will slow me down by like three months because I'll somehow keep failing to be in the same room as the tabs and a tape measure

Why aren't the robots working in the mines and oil fields and handling toxic chemicals or picking plastic out of the ocean? Why are they writing emails and making PowerPoint presentations? What the hell are doing.

Stationery Bluesky! How/where do I buy the little card tabs in this picture? I already own an accordion-style organiser & want fresh tabs for it. I do not want: - anything sticky - to buy a new organiser! Have looked online and searched a real branch of used-to-be-WHSmith but drawn a blank.
Wonky pic I snapped in WHSmith showing an accordion-style organiser with perforated cardboard tabs on top of it.

Hello Bone Colleagues,
I have invented a new type of ankle and I'm very excited to show it to you. Early raccoon trials suggest a 60% increase in scurrying speed and dramatic increases in fine motor banditry. I know we are not supposed to create super raccoons, but I think you'll change your mind and professional ethics when you see how cute they are. I believe we are on the cusp of a new era in advanced human scurrying because if medical science has taught me anything, it's that improvements in raccoons correspond 1:1 to improvements in humans.

I say, it really is a stroke of luck that the big energy companies hadn't finished moving away from fossil fuels when data centre demand rocketed. Imagine what a pickle we'd be in if they'd dismantled their extraction gubbins a year or two BEFORE we needed peaker plants to help us write emails!

Put it this way: if the Greens, Kneecap and Gary Lineker are prompting enraged all-channels screaming fury but e.g. an army seizing, depopulating and ethnically cleansing southern Lebanon of its racially undesirable populace doesn’t make anyone blink, then I am going to conclude - bullshit

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

"Ah, so they give you an image of where the words are gonna go and ask you to write them?" oh dear me no they commission you to write the stuff and you unsuccessfully beg for a copy of the design and then you finally get an idea of the wordcount when they tell you you wrote too much

the THRILL of being in a non customer-facing part of a business and seeing the internal signage that only employees are supposed to see. I love when they're from corporate with a logo on the bottom, I love when they're handwritten, I LOVE when they're a palimpsest of evolving procedures.

yeah and the party has hundreds of thousands of members, most of whom will only be dimly aware that conference was even on. it's just not productive to say they should all have acted to stop this motion. we need to look at how to stop entryism and bad-faith actions like you say!
030
Kate Griffin @griffinkate.bsky.social · 05/10/2026
that's true, but it's more productive to focus on: - the people who wrote this motion - those who supported it - what flaws in the system allowed this to go through before we start blaming people who failed to vote against it because they didn't vote at all

About to go through the delightful process of booking a private flu jab through our local pharmacy, in the sure knowledge that the pharmacist will say "oh, you're entitled to a jab on the NHS, didn't your GP tell you?" for the third year running

For those in England & Wales who don’t get them on the NHS: private flu & covid jabs are available from today. I’ve just had both at my local pharmacy. £115 for the pair. Yes, that’s expensive, but if you’re a freelancer & don’t get sick pay it’s probably a lot cheaper than taking time off.

Delighted to learn a new Scottish word from this online review for leggings. Even better than "havering"! The hint that the reviewer is a bit tight is welcome character development, despite playing into national stereotypes.
Screenshot from an online review. Reviewer Auds27 gives five stars and says: "I've been swithering about these leggings for ages. Got them in a sale so managed to get them a bit cheaper. Worth every penny!"

That's the question right there. And the answer seems to come down to Thatcherite ideology around the public sector being "inefficient". It's absolutely fine to systematically cream off money for shareholders as long as they don't accidentally order too many paperclips or pay staff too much 🤷
