If you ever feel bad about taking a longer time than someone else to accomplish the same things, just remember that during the 1912 Stockholm Olympics Japanese marathon runner Shizo Kanakuri passed out in a garden party along the marathon route and, instead of notifying race officials of his inability to finish the race, he went back to Japan without telling anyone and was considered a missing person by the Swedish authorities for 50 years. He didn't finish the race until 1967 when a Swedish television station offered to help him complete the run, and he finished with a final time of 54 years, 8 months, 6 days, 5 hours, 32 minutes and 20.379 seconds.

Having a total hoot with my Dell Poweredge T620, including a 45 minute period of pure panic where I thought I’d bricked it. Looks like the PERC H310 RAID card has been flashed to IT mode, which is awesome because it means I don’t have to. Been a learning rollercoaster, but it’s coming together.

84 years ago today, two naked canadian sailors successfully boarded and captured a U-boat while the rest of their crew threw coke bottles at it. turns out it's hard to defend a conning tower ladder when there's a sweaty canadian butt suddenly sliding down it at speed. an "out of context" problem.

I'd like to counter with: What a game you initially hated, but grew to love? For me it's Just Cause 3. Initially hated it because it *wasn't* JC2 with a better engine. I didn't gel with the new mechanics. And then I did. And now it's one of my favourite games. And the music is *awesome*.

There's a few: Red Dead Redemption 2: Loved RDR, but I get to the proper open-world part of RDR2 and bounce an hour later. No idea why. Final Fantasy (all): Doesn't appeal. Kind of should. But doesn't. GTA (all): As FF. Fallout (all): Tried to like. Failed. Which given I love Skyrim seems odd.
