The tower blocks the council put up in the 1960s only took a decade till they were so haunted, no-one wanted to live in them. It weren't just the broken lifts, the smell of piss in the stairwells, it was the ghosts that did for people. Spirits turned mean by the towers' design. Liv Green #VOH

The rapid abandonment of Bennewith House by both the nuns and the orphans left in their dubious care, continues to generate much speculation. Phrases such as ‘mass possession’ and ‘group hysteria’ are commonly used. The gates remain locked, the buildings hollowed and left to rot.

I went there as a tourist in the late seventies. We asked why they'd not been demolished. Apparently, the concrete is so thick that to blast them would obliterate half the town at the same time, and to go at them with pneumatic drills would take about a century. Besides, they draw tourists.

Love the picture, but meteors and meteorites are not the same thing. If it burns up completely in the atmosphere, it's a meteor. If some of it survives to impact the Earth's surface, it's a meteorite. (And if it's just floating in space, it's a meteoroid.) Sincerely, A Nerd

I came away to a house on the moor and brought some friends with me. A book about stones. A book about paths. And from Hookland, a book about everything. @hookland.bsky.social very kindly send me a Right to Reside and I brought that too, just in case. The wind here is strong. Who know what it moves.

A moor at night, the foreground grass glitches into red and green. There is a tiny house on the brow of the hill with a lone tree, and only moor around it. Front its top room, I can hear the wind howling.

One of the four greatest LP's ever released (with Dark Side of the Moon, Led Zep IV and Sgt Pepper). I once wrote a fantasy story inspired by the lines "The cracked brass bell will ring, to summon back the fire witch to the court of the Crimson King." Then someone told me about copyright laws.
