Today, selling a £1m house and moving to a £400,000 flat won’t change your children’s IHT. The estate is the same size. Under the Tory proposal, the £1m house was exempt from IHT, but the £600,000 you released is fully subject to IHT. Your house move caused £240,000 IHT.

For Musk, "government fraud and waste" is a single mom on food stamps who misses a box on a 600-page form because she's exhausted from working three jobs to make rent - not a no-bid contractor trousering billions in public funds for projects that overcharge and underdeliver. 41/

Bristol Museum has a Thylacine. Shipped from Tasmania to Britain in 1910, he died soon after arriving but here he is now. I’m not ashamed to say I was welling up looking at the poor guy, his entire species exterminated because of money. Sleep well, dude.

More than tax or public services, Labour’s singular pitch - to the electorate, investors and allies - was the promise of a decade of stable technocratic leadership after the “Tory psychodrama”. A party incapable of delivering that is going to have to find better pretexts than “but my activists”

A fake video masquerading as a report by The Sun has gone viral. It baselessly claims Olena Zelenska has bought Princess Diana's "revenge dress" from Harry and Meghan for $2.9m. The clip is likely the work of a known Russian disinformation operation that mimics news outlets to disparage Ukraine.
Juanita Broaddrick @atensnut

Dear American taxpayers. You just purchased Zelensky’s wife a Princess Diana dress for $2.9 million. Despicable!!

Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Diana sold the dress at her Christie’s auction in 1997. It was purchased by a Scottish couple for £39,098. They are still the rightful owners, and the dress is currently on display at the Museum of Style in Newbridge, County Kildare

Conversation with Smaug, an illustration from the Hobbit by JRR Tolkein depicts a dragon, lazily coiled around his mountain of gold. The definitive image of fatal greed and miserliness which you have to ask the Tolkein estate VERY VERY nicely to reproduce. Thank you the Tolkeins.
