The only response to this non-sense is posting cat photos.
Blep. This is a photo of a classic tabby cat, a feral buddy named Uno. He’s lounging on our front step with a blep and closed eyes. A middle-aged woman lurks in the background in a denim shirt. She’s smiling though.

I made these cinnamon rolls from scratch this morning and they were very pleasing and delicious on a Sunday morning.
An aluminum tray full of 8 cinnamon rolls smothered in melting cream cheese frosting. I got up at 5:30am and decided to start them. Well proved, but a bit overbaked by a few degrees.

One of the cool things I found out after researching our 1925 house is that it was built from a Sears Honor-Built Home Kit: “The Wayne.” The description reads: "One looking at the exterior of this house is impressed with its stability.” Ha! I guess that’s like me. Predictable and stable.

Fast moving storms over EWR. Sorry for the holiday delays.
This is Uno. Formerly feral but outdoor tabby dude. He is fearless when it comes to death and kills at will. Squirrels. Rats. Little brown sparrows without a clue. I love him. We sit on the stoop when it’s stormy. I saved his tail. I ask him to protect us and he always does his best. Storm blowing through northern NJ. Flights at EWR routes elsewhere. Fast moving sun blooms.

From my rep @replamonica.bsky.social: the bill "is cutting $360 million from NJ’s state healthcare budget ALONE, leaving 360,000 eligible residents at risk of losing care. Again, that’s JUST New Jersey.” This going to be catastrophic to our healthcare system. It will affect everyone in the US.

The ultra-rich have captured more of America’s wealth than even the nineteenth-century tycoons of the Gilded Age. Scholars who study inequality as far back as the Neolithic period struggle to find precedents. Tim Kerig, an archeologist who directs the Museum Alzey, in Germany, told me, “The people who built the Egyptian pyramids were probably in a less unequal society.” He suggested that today’s richest people are simply accumulating too much wealth for the system to contain. “The economic and technical evolution is much faster than the social, mental, and ideological evolution,” he said. “We had no time to adapt to all those billionaires.”

The result? A fragmented public consciousness where competing realities coexist, each self-reinforcing and resistant to correction. When truth is no longer a shared foundation, power shifts to those who control the most compelling narrative - no matter how detached from reality it is.

After a horrendous week, we got to laugh together watching the brilliant, weird, and hilarious Betty Gilpin in "Oh, Mary!" A generous friend passed along some tickets at the last minute, and we braved Times Square on a cold February night to see one of the best live performances I've ever seen.
