Figure skating world championships were considered to be for men only until 1902, when Madge Syers showed up and took home silver and the ISU went "whooooops guess we need to segregate them." It happened again in 1992 Olympic skeet shooting: Zhang Shan took gold and then they segregated the event.

Finished the quilt top today. It would have been done sooner but it sat dormant for several weeks in timeout when some of the intersections wouldn't line up. I fixed the worst of them (four times each 🙄) but others can F.O. I love the colors. #postcardfromswedenquilt

It is little known, but the first book burnings in Nazi Germany didn’t target Jewish writers. It was the burning of the library of the Institute of Sexual Research, which was a safe home for trans people. It is no accident that fascists today walk that same dark path by targeting trans people. /5
