Electric vehicles with built-in gas generators are the car industry’s new hope for drivers wary of going electric. But “these new hybrids are the latest sign that the electric revolution has not exactly gone according to plan,” Andrew Moseman reports. theatln.tc/dMkVXHq0

Charlie Kirk spent his life‘s work and all of his energy and time targeting out-groups while arguing for a world in which gun massacres would be easy to enact, plentiful, and inevitable, and he became famous and wealthy doing it, and we’re now not supposed to mention that because it’s not polite.

An extraordinary story about how scientists in the US are afraid to speak up as the entire science research ecosystem is demolished at the hands of the Republican administration. Without our voices, how will people understand the scope and generational consequences of the ongoing destruction?

Easy to lose this in the noise of the day, but the prime minister of Canada just said the US president, leader of the global hegemon, wants to soften us up economically so he can annex us. That is one of the most remarkable statements, and realities, in our history.

This is what it looks like when you just don't get it. The damage of normalizing has already been done. Later, when CBC apologizes for this and "defund the CBC" campaigners use this as ammunition, remember that they could have cancelled it in the face of the uproar. Vimy, not Vichy 🇨🇦.

Word on the street is the National Science Foundation will be forced to cut 25-50% of staff. This is a colossally bad idea that would doom America's lead in science and innovation and hand it to China. Major cuts at NIH could have similar results. I just can't underscore how bad an idea this is!

I remember in the early 80's people would vandalize/scratch/paint/damage Lada vehicles. Massively unfair to the owners of course, but a political comment on Russia. And Lada then went out of business in Canada. No way would I want to be the owner of a Tesla in Canada right now.
