Looks like Toronto Bikeshare has opened an RFI for Future Operating Models for Bikeshare. www.merx.com/solicitation... Suggestions: 1. Add E-Scooters to the network - Chicago 2. Add child seats and kid bikes on the island - Singapore 3. Run an accessible network with adaptive bikes -Detroit

Toronto cyclists, leaving X and coming here to do your advocacy has been incredibly damaging. You aren’t convincing anyone here. Cycle Toronto hasn’t posted on X in nearly two years…many other advocates left the space. But the decision makers haven’t and neither have their voters.

The mayor should recall council and pass a motion condemning the removal of bike lanes. Maybe Bradford would support. Focus on the province overriding local democracy.

It’s time for @CycleToronto to come up with a different policy on e-bikes. Specifically instead of trying to get mandatory battery standards, they need to be advocating for laws discriminating against batteries that are already certified and meeting standards.

A second one…wonder what @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social thinks of this. Any thoughts @cycletoronto.bsky.social … soon e-bikes will be banned in all the towers in Toronto…because council is being gaslit by the fire department. x.com/torontotoday...

A Toronto condo can prohibit residents from keeping e-bikes inside their own units as part of a ban aimed at addressing fire safety concerns. https://t.co/ke1FFgcFk4

Just heard about a condo in Toronto that is banning e-bikes, e-scooters and other electric mobility devices in all residential and common areas. No parking, storage or charging. This should be illegal in Toronto. What is @cycletoronto.bsky.social doing about this? #topoli

Looks like The Integrity Commissioner is clearing out his Inbox before the election gets into swing... My complaint for Clr Peruzza/Chernos Lin driving/breaking the Highway Traffic Act during a council meeting has been dismissed. Hopefully the next council will take this more seriously. #topoli

The Toronto Integrity Commissioner responded to my inquiry about Clr Peruzza and Mayor Chow appearing to be driving during a council meeting. Breaches of the Highway Traffic Act are not integrity violations. This needs to change during the next session of council….

@codeforcanada.bsky.social curious what was being discussed…there is a big gap in open traffic data at the moment, where things like vehicle counts are being opened, but the basics (intersection geometry, sensor location and timings/config) is still in a walled garden due to lock in by vendors.

Why can’t Toronto just run some cables to these guys so we can turn off the generators?? I thought we’d fix this before fifa. There is power within 10 feet of all of these guys.

If we are going to improve traffic and transit in this city, you would think the first step would be to have all the traffic signal timings in an "accessible and machine-readable" format...but staff can't do it...so they are going to continue charging 130$ per intersection... #topoli

Hey #topoli - why do we charge 116$ to find out the timings for a streetlight? This should be available for free from @torontoopendata.cityof.toronto.ca

I imagine the work to fix this is both 1) incredibly simple 2) incredibly complex … we just have to find the backend staffer who thinks it’s #1 and let them do it…

Annoying TTC thing: the city wrapped up their construction work at Queen & Broadview weeks early (yay) but the 504 and 501 streetcars aren’t going to return to their normal routing until May 3, because that’s the start of the next “board period.” Why run an unnecessary diversion for a month?
Regular service will resume on the 504D King replacement bus as traffic restrictions tied to construction at Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Davies Avenue end. Buses will continue to operate between Broadview Station and King Street East and Parliament Street via King Street East in both directions.

504B/304 King streetcars are scheduled to resume regular routing Sunday, May 3.

Please note: These route changes will not be reflected on the TTC’s Routes and Schedules pages or most trip planning apps until Sunday, May 3, 2026.Regular service will resume on the 301B Queen replacement bus as traffic restrictions tied to construction at Queen Street East between Broadview Avenue and Davies Avenue, end. Hotdog Cart Moratorium in Toronto looks to be almost over. For 20+ years it’s been impossible to get a new license in the core. If this passes i expect a gold rush for new food carts in the core (not just hot dogs)…lots of good opportunities out there… secure.toronto.ca/council/#/co...

Not enough doors. Tram vehicles can have more, but low floor is a hard limit. There is a reason high floor subways are used for lines like this. There is a reason we planned a high floor subway on this line decades ago . . .

Transit Priority in Albuquerque is next level. Interlocked - single bidirectional lane priority - with bars. Two lanes reduce to one, and the signals prevent head on collisions. Came across this randomly driving around New Mexico.

It's interesting that grade separation in urban contexts was essentially achieved in many cities throughout the developed world by WWII, but by the 1960s the grade separation effort was de facto almost abandoned in North America but continued elsewhere.
