George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 09/10/2026Don’t worry. He’s not on here. Him and all of his followers will never know your thoughts on the matter…. 000
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 09/10/2026You guys, Doug Ford doesn’t even have an account on here. Get back on X so at least his intern might see some of your posts…once we beat him and save the bike lanes, then we can beat Elon… You have a much bigger pulpit on X than you do anywhere else…use it… 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026As way of quantifying this. Cycle Toronto has 24k followers on X, and 6k on here. 18k on insta. Not communicating on X is dumb… 000
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026Although to be honest, half the point of posting on social media is interaction with folks you disagree with…and as an advocacy org I would hope they relish those opportunities. But maybe not… 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026I’d love to know why @cycletoronto.bsky.social and @mlongfield.bsky.social believe that not posting on X has helped the cause of cycling in Toronto. I’m fairly certain it hasn’t. There is no reason that they can’t simulcast their Bluesky content there, even if they aren’t monitoring the account… 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026Those daily interactions and posts matter. But they need to be seen by people with different beliefs than us. That can’t happen here unfortunately. And it isn’t happening on X like it used to… Blaming Musk is fine. But letting him win…that seems stupid… 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026Those activities don’t really convince anyone, and they sure as heck don’t change polls or momentum… Momentum is everyday posting a video of some good/bad interaction, like we did early in the Tory years. Here is the car that almost killed me. Here is me passing all these parked cars. 110
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026By leaving X, you’ve entered your own bubble. But nobody is paying attention here… Reactivate your account. Post some stuff about Bloor. Get into arguments with folks who you disagree with. If you want to win, that’s the only way it happens. You can go block bloor, reactivate bells on Bloor…but… 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026Toronto cyclists, leaving X and coming here to do your advocacy has been incredibly damaging. You aren’t convincing anyone here. Cycle Toronto hasn’t posted on X in nearly two years…many other advocates left the space. But the decision makers haven’t and neither have their voters. 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026I wouldn’t listen to Gord on sidewalks…he’s been stalling on installing one on parkside for decades now… 130
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 08/10/2026The mayor should recall council and pass a motion condemning the removal of bike lanes. Maybe Bradford would support. Focus on the province overriding local democracy. 000
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 06/10/2026It’s going to be almost impossible to ban uncertified batteries. As there are legitimate uses for them…it’s very easy to get laws passed that prevent bans on certified batteries… 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 06/10/2026The condo bans are the first step in making legal and certified bikes impossible to store in Toronto. The biking community is on the back foot here, partially because @CycleToronto was on the wrong side of the e-scooter debate, and now the folks who banned e-scooters are coming for e-bikes. 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 06/10/2026It’s time for @CycleToronto to come up with a different policy on e-bikes. Specifically instead of trying to get mandatory battery standards, they need to be advocating for laws discriminating against batteries that are already certified and meeting standards. 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 28/09/2026Cc @tomflood.bsky.social you got any thoughts on this? 000
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 28/09/2026A second one…wonder what @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social thinks of this. Any thoughts @cycletoronto.bsky.social … soon e-bikes will be banned in all the towers in Toronto…because council is being gaslit by the fire department. x.com/torontotoday...x.comTorontoToday (@torontotodayca) on XA Toronto condo can prohibit residents from keeping e-bikes inside their own units as part of a ban aimed at addressing fire safety concerns. https://t.co/ke1FFgcFk4 200

George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 26/09/2026Just heard about a condo in Toronto that is banning e-bikes, e-scooters and other electric mobility devices in all residential and common areas. No parking, storage or charging. This should be illegal in Toronto. What is @cycletoronto.bsky.social doing about this? #topoli 113
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/08/2026The HTA act being broken doesn't need to be proven before the commissioner can rule, in fact I believe the integrity commissioner themselves if they detect illegal activity should be required to submit that to the authorities themselves...as I believe they have done in the past... Kandavel/Mammoliti 020
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/08/2026Finally it also is discreditable conduct - a duty to treat members of the public appropriately (driving while on a video call threatens their health and safety). 120
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/08/2026It's also a misuse of council services (specifically the remote meeting service) as they are clearly using it for other purposes (driving). 110
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/08/2026Specifically this is a breach of decorum (no different than if a councillor was smoking inside the council chambers, threatening someone, or carrying a gun onto the floor). 130
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/08/2026I suspect I will continue to make these submissions as I believe they do in fact breach the integrity act by bringing council into disrepute...and specifically by breaching the council code of conduct... 120
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/08/2026Looks like The Integrity Commissioner is clearing out his Inbox before the election gets into swing... My complaint for Clr Peruzza/Chernos Lin driving/breaking the Highway Traffic Act during a council meeting has been dismissed. Hopefully the next council will take this more seriously. #topoli 120
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 20/08/2026I have two other more egregious cases similar to this outstanding from two months ago. But they are also likely to go nowhere. I hope that council can prevent this from occurring in the future by policing themselves and adding a procedural law to ensure remote cameras in cars are passengers. 101
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 20/08/2026The Toronto Integrity Commissioner responded to my inquiry about Clr Peruzza and Mayor Chow appearing to be driving during a council meeting. Breaches of the Highway Traffic Act are not integrity violations. This needs to change during the next session of council…. 101

George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 10/08/2026@codeforcanada.bsky.social curious what was being discussed…there is a big gap in open traffic data at the moment, where things like vehicle counts are being opened, but the basics (intersection geometry, sensor location and timings/config) is still in a walled garden due to lock in by vendors. 100
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 22/05/2026It’s all over twitter…can’t escape it… I feel like a lot of progressives in toronto aren’t paying attention (likely because they are exclusively here)…and might be shocked at the outcomes of things just due to lack of information and lack of push back against what is being pushed on other platforms 000
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/05/2026But I wouldn’t get rid of the lot until you hit 10 minute service; and that needs to be across the pickup area, and likely higher during rush hour. Give the suburbs their parking, charge for it, and then use that money to run buses until you hit 10$…then increase bus service and shrink parking 011
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/05/2026If the lot is full, raise prices…if it’s not full, you likely wouldn’t have got people onto buses anyways… Once the parking is full and you are charging 6$+ you have a much better argument for buses. At 10$+ you can basically guarantee the demand is there. 110
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/05/2026If the lot is still owned by the city - this likely means you can build way more density down the road at that location. If it’s owned by someone else, it will be redeveloped when the market says it should be. 221
George Bell @george.borkbork.ca · 21/05/2026My feeling with parking is that it’s essentially fine if we are just building a lot. A structure is not needed. Lots are fine in the suburbs because in general bus service sucks due to low density. Once there is higher density and service improves, it’s way easier to redevelop a lot. 111
