I still can't believe Trump means fart and Musk means smell, it's like world war three is written by Roald Dahl.

This is my favorite picture of Stonewall. They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+. Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them. I think about it a lot in moments like this.

Absolutely hate “we went too far” revisionist history. “We all believed women and it went too far.” No we did not all believe women. I was there

waaaaay too many people in the middle imo

a venn diagram. the left circle is “people who understand that climate change is an existential threat” and the right circle is “people who use Al, but, like, not for real work! lol! i just needed a silly pic of a dog on a scooter and it's surprisingly hard to find good reference images”

7 January 1792: #OTD Mary Wollstonecraft's Vindication of the Rights of Women was published. This text was hugely influential and is regarded as one of the earliest works of feminist philosophy.

just a reminder that your local library has more than just books! many also have dvds, cds, video games, internet hot spots, grindr hookup spots, chupacabras, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, skibidi toilets, gateways to the shadow realm, and so much more! maybe it's time for a visit! ❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚

And that's it! Hope everyone has a happy new year, and here's to a joyous 2025 :)

Okay, so "film reroll" isn't a TTRPG per se, but I've taken part in a handful of them this year and have loved all of them lol.

TTRPGs are a huge part of who I am, and that's thanks to the wonderful friends who participate in them with me. Below are four TTRPGs that began this year, but there are others which are more long running which deserve a shoutout too!

Music is a tricky one. I tend to fall back on older albums, often being a decade or so behind the trends lol, but here are four albums that came out this year that have really stood out to me.

Sidenote: I haven't quite finished On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, but I'm so obsessed with it already that it has to count!

Onto books - I discovered the joy of audiobooks this year, perhaps a little later than I would've liked, but in doing so I've found a new love for non-fiction, as well as finding my new favourite book of all time in The Picture of Dorian Gray! Here are my top 4 books for this year.

Starting with movies! I watched my way through a number of series, like X-Men and the Sonic movies, and discovered some new all-time favourites. I admittedly watched very few movies made this year, these are my top 4 that I watched this year, not necessarily made in 2024!

I'm also so grateful to have so many wonderful people who have been so supportive and lovely this year. You folks know who you are - thanks for everything, and lots of love ❤️ Without further ado, the recommendations!

Inspired by the always lovely @predap.bsky.social, I'm doing a 2024 review thread! I've learned a lot this year, both about myself and others. Despite everything, or I suppose because of everything, I've come out the other side more resilient and more wise.

A goal of mine for 2025 is to spend less time around men who clearly don't care for women.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but you don't need to justify your reading preferences and choices to anyone. Audiobooks count as reading. Also, you don't have to finish books you don't enjoy. Don't read to impress, read for yourself. Life's too short, love yourself, ok? Signed, a librarian

When men rage, they blow and shoot things up and start wars. When women rage, we create. We knit, do embroidery and cross stitch. We create new things ... while we figure out how to fix the broken things. Behold rage project #1

oh yeah that's great! looking forward to it :)

gemlin @gemlin.bsky.social · 03/12/2024

yeah I don't wanna read into it too much because it could be any reason, but without any women the vibes go from a bunch of friends playing games to very "lads being lads" behaviour if that makes sense
