If you work in game dev take the time to name your folders, your layers and your files appropiately. Review your submissions and make sure everything is in place, or else you may be making your colleagues life more difficult down the line without necessity. Believe me people will appreciate it

I'm not super excited about blurry 50 fps gaming where it takes your $3000 gpu several frames to converge light into a discernible picture. I love how great games got to look but the tradeoffs we took aren't very good imo We need nice baked GI again that runs on a laptop you found behind a dumpster

Agreed Natural Selection and a number of other mods blew my mind, but have to fall back on these as the foundational games for many reasons (listed a few in alt text)

Duke nukem - first 3d level editor
Halflife - first game I could rip apart and check out pro content
Counterstrike - pre1.6 - clan/ hosted servers first online community experience
Battlefield 2 - just cuz
System shock 1 2 & Deus Ex - the depth / immersive sim
GTA 3 - blew my mind, the scope / scale at the time
XCom (all of them), particularly the last 2
