Can someone explain to me why this happens? Shouldnt "Light from the sun" just pass through a hole as... light? like the light from the sun is wider than the earth, theoretically, so why would the obscure part appear through an aperture?

Saw Rush last night, an alltime favourite band. 2 guys 72 years old able to rip their instruments to shreds like they were still kids, accompanied by Anika Nilles, sitting in throne of one of the greatest drummers ever and absolutely killing it.
