So how do we fix it? Tradtionally, we beat the hell out of bigots and white surpremacists. Everyone focuses on MLK for instance. They ignore the violent parts of the civil rights movement because that makes it seem nicer. However there was plenty of violent protesting before the march on washington

In fact, if you look at people who left the proud boys or kkk. They very rarely leave behind their bigoted beliefs. They usually just say that the group they left was the problem. Psychologically people don't want to admit when they are wrong especiall a deeply held belief like white supremacy.

It doesn't remove their responsibility at all. There are examples of people in the Nazi party who tried to be better. The point being made is that if you a system that creatss white supremacists. Is not going to be stopped by "fixing" the people who are products of that system.
