Agree with this wholeheartedly. Comps are a way of showing your editor you are knowledgeable about your area and how you see your book fitting into existing discourse. Try to avoid:
1) Books that are decades old
2) Ridiculously famous books/authors
3) My book is wholly unique and nothing compares
