I was advised to put my email through a sloppifier recently. I will follow that advice just for them alone. Everyone else will continue to get my fallible but hand-crafted thoughts. I always want to hear others’ authentic voice, particularly if it’s not their 1st language, or not fully formed.

A scientific community without (some critical mass of) virtuous scientists doesn't have the means to maintain this normative alignment. This idea is neither naive nor conservative. It has just been sidelined for being a fantasy (Probably due to the widespread allure of neoliberal fantasies).

Tempted to use AI to write your cover letter or email to a potential employer? RESIST! It is simultaneously obvious, insulting, and renders you totally undifferentiated from the other 80 people being considered t the same time. There has never been a better time to write concisely in your own voice!

Graphical abstract showing that NMDAR immunisation drives psychosis-like behaviour in mice, while clozapine reverses this. Upper panel: arrows show NMDAR immunisation producing a mouse exhibiting psychosis-like behaviour, with clozapine reversing this effect. Lower panels: anti-NMDAR antibodies bind neuronal NMDA receptors, which are then eliminated by microglia via phagocytosis, leading to psychosis. Clozapine restores NMDA receptor levels by reducing anti-NMDAR antibody levels, consistent with an immunomodulatory mechanism of action.
