There's a group of comics that got big in the 1990s for being progressive and edgy. Except they never kept up with the times so what was progressive 30 years ago isn't anymore. And this pisses them off they don't get the same constant praise for progressivism, so they revert back to "edgy".

That's one of the big ways it was unapologetic about being a monster movie AND draws comparisons to Jaws. The majority of both of those movies take place during broad, bright daylight. The only difference is the Graboid animatronics worked and the shark was nothing but problems.

I follow a few science/history folks who also do TikTok and other short form and I rarely watch it because it lacks and nuance or detail. The few exceptions are creators who are good at laser-focusing on one very specific point and making it in 2-3 minutes with needed detail, but that's rare.

If that's a Revigator, then he's more likely to get lead or arsenic poisoning. The radium and uranium in the lining rarely made it into the water stored in it (assuming the lining was intact) and was just meant to "irradiate the water". The lining, of course, was itself poisonous.

Fun Fact: The human body processes radium like it does calcium, using it to form bone. However, radium does not have the structural integrity of calcium to do the job. So not only do you get constant doses of radiation, but your bones will literally crumble into powder.
