Voter idiocies that got Trump & the fascists elected: - Dem candidate "must earn my vote" - Self-righteously criticize Dems, ignore GOP - Better to let evil GOP candidate win than compromise "my principles." - My holier-than-thou losing candidate is not a spoiler. - I will never apologize. UGH.

I knew the second I saw that viral clip of the mom and dad at the baseball game that the internet’s insane parasocial contextless gut reaction to it was going to end up being wildly wrong. I really really hate how people just don’t give a shit about being kind or thoughtful anymore on the internet.

Sept. 25, 1926: Ford Motor Co. says it will permanently shift to a five-day week in which factory workers and office staff will get Saturdays off. Pay scales will be altered so employees receive about the same wages as before. A trial period showed the shorter workweek to be more efficient.

Eastwood "Be Stiff" bass
Eastwood has made versions of a lot of DEVO's more famous guitars, like the LaBaye 2x4, Ibanez Cloud, and "Whip It" Les Paul. They also made this: the "Be Stiff" bass.

The original bass probably started as a Gibson EB of some sort, but the body's been cut down dramatically. If you flip the bass upside down so the neck is pointing at the ground, the body looks like a mushroom, with a large oval top and thin shaft where the neck bolts up. It's got two pickups that are controlled by a volume knob, a tone knob, and a 3-way switch. Eastwood topped the 2/2 headstock with an Energy Dome and the DEVO logo.

The bass in the picture is a right-handed model, but a lefty version was also available.

BC RIch Warlock Body Art Collection "The Fly"
The BC Rich Warlock is a very angular metal guitar with a double cutaway body that's got a big V cut out of the end, leaving two asymmetrical points. It's got a humbucker in the bridge that's controlled by a volume knob, a 24-fret neck, and a 3/3 headstock that's just as pointy as the rest of the body.

Speaking of the body, this guitar is part of the Body Art collection, and has a fairly realistic top-down picture of a fly that takes up the whole body.
