Boy-girl seating plans are sexist. They also perpetuate misogynistic attitudes and damage both boys and girls. Think about what you are saying when you introduce this splitting on gender lines. #Edusky

#historyteacher & MWB Does anyone have tips for using mini whiteboards (MWB) in the History classroom from those who use/have used them and have come across all the good and the bad with them. I have plenty of ideas; concrete examples please!

I wonder how much data training people have had when they enter into mid-leader roles. I've had very little in my career, maybe using the software - but, crucially- not the thinking behind the data. Or how to use the data to make judgements and analyse whether they are valid.

New blog post. Part 2 of a series on what our assessment tells students about history. We meet the ghosts of assessment present and future (probably a bit out of date now but you can blame Dickens for having one of each ghost). #UKEd #UKTeaching #EduSky occamshairdryer.wordpress.com/2024/08/24/a...

Why is it that the night before going back to work is it the night when the twins wake up 3 times. In addition the dog had a fit at 5am. I'm exhausted already!

Why target grades miss the mark
I would be very surprised if there were many people in the room not familiar with stickers like the ones up on this board. Target grades are so embedded in our schools, so deeply entwined in education...

Recommendations please. I'm starting a 'family book club' with my wife, 8yo ans 12 yo. We want challenging language, and topics/themes but also somewhat age appropriate for the (mature) 8yo. We also want a range of backgrounds of authors and genres. Suggestions?
