I've decided to compile a definitive thread of photos of the best sheep I've photographed during my walks in the countryside, together with supporting biographical information. I will put the vital story associated with each sheep in the alt text, since some of it is a little long to fit in a post.
A nihilistic sheep, who, like so many other sheep, just wants to watch the world burn, staring at me insouciantly, moments after it has set fire to a large portion of the United Kingdom.

It's 8.40pm and I'm in bed, and it's nice and I'm tired and looking forward to sleep. The sun won't set for an hour, but luckily I have blackout curtains. My teenage self would be appalled. (Tbf, it seems a pity to waste a lovely summer evening, but - tired.)

The same people who anointed Starmer, and are trying to anoint Farage, are looking for all and any kompromat on Polanski. When you read weird stories in the papers against Polanski, and they seem desperately thin, know that they went dumpster diving and that rubbish was all they could find.

Western Africa in general has a rich textile tradition. The noted Arab traveler Ibn Battutah once visited Kano, an ancient trading city in northern Nigeria, where he remarked on the indigo dye pits of Kofor Mata. Six hundred years later, those same pits are being used today.

Early start (before 7am) for a walk today, but still too hot to walk up Pendle. So we went round Lower Ogden reservoir and paddled in the river at Barley. Back home by 9.30 for another quiet day in the garden.

Stoking and channeling boiling contempt for the ultra-rich is a pretty essential element of what needs to happen if we're gonna get out of this. And folks, they've given us a lot to work with. Don't tone police that shit. When it gets out of control, remind people why that's happening.

🧵The curse that kept a church door unlocked for over a century… In 1801, an innocent Romani man, Joshua Scamp was hanged for a crime he didn't commit; framed by his own son-in-law. When the local clergy later desecrated his grave, the furious Gypsy Queen laid her curses. Every single one came true.

Haul from this year's #Wonderwool: a pair of small purpleheart spindles, grey Icelandic lamb roving, coloured Corriedale fleece, fibre from Arbon's, yarn for the SWW hat, and a lovely Welsh basket. I thought I was v restrained. The fleece was the only thing I shouldn't have got.
To clear plastic bags of pale coffee coloured fleece, another bag of grey wool roving, two small spindles, a small willow basket, three small bags of blue and yellow wool tops, five 25g skeins of primary colours yarn, paper bag with more wool tops.
