I will be okay. Not because everything is fine, but because I am surprisingly difficult to destroy. Says Skeletor who notices being hard to destroy sure doesn’t mean a bunch of asshoes don’t keep trying.

"sex doesn't belong in YA books" Listen, I learned more about birth control, menstruation, and how to get and give consent to different acts from Tamora Pierce books than I did from my school. There's a huge difference between smut and showing teens what healthy sexuality is.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but cops are not allowed to shoot people just because you didn't do what they said. That is called murder when they do that. Some cops are working hard to convince people otherwise.

Star Trek The Next Generation scene. We're "on the D" and in personal quarters with sitcom buddies Data and Worf. Data looks concerned! as he stands next Worf who is very awkwardly holding a cat by its little cat armpits. Worf's hands are huge in comparison and it appears he is not a big fan of cats. Closed caption reads, "Tell him he is a pretty cat."

Everyone blasted the 90s Star Trek series for not having enough serialization, but it turns out life really is like that time Picard had a lifetime of memories installed in his brain, including seeing his family die, only to have to deal with time travel and Mark Twain in his very next mission

Librarians aren't going to save us. Librarians aren't superheroes. They're just people trying to keep largely underfunded and overwhelmed public services going. Praise is nice; realistic expectations are better; material support is best.

I’m just going to say that AOC is the acting leader of the Democratic Party until someone proves otherwise. At least insofar as she is responding to the moment with leadership.
Just to be clear, you are defending a Heil Hitler salute that was performed and repeated for emphasis and clarity.

People can officially stop listening to you as any sort of reputable source of information now. You work for them. Thank you for making that crystal clear to all.

For Blue Monday we can't think of anything more appropriate than this charming depiction of a man getting his face eaten off by a leopard. #MosaicMonday
A horrific image of a someone who seems to have his hands tied behind his back. A big cat (the predator kind, not the overfed pet kind) has jumped up at him and is devouring his face. Blood splashes on the floor.

I just completed the LEGO set for "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" (AKA "Under the Wave off Kanagawa") by Hokusai, and I ♥ it so much! I had to laugh, though, about one thing: (1/3)
The completed LEGO set for The Great Wave off Kanagawa (aka Under the Wave off Kanagawa) by Japanese artist Hokusai, created in late 1831. The frame and matting are also made of LEGO pieces: the frame is a neutral blond wood color, and the matting is white. The LEGO picture itself approximates the original print, showing choppy blue seas with white foam and one enormous breaking wave with three narrow boats with people inside at the base of the wave. Mount Fuji is in the background, although it isn't large. The sky is a peach color with white clouds.

You’ll probably see this screenshot floating around a lot but it really was wonderful to see Lynch put a scene in Twin Peaks: The Return where he has his character literally stare at the camera and say that you should either support trans people or die. I needed to hear that in 2017
