Get your Covid and flu vaccines before it's too late (and RSV if you qualify! especially pregnant folks). If you're not wearing a high quality mask indoors in public spaces already, it's a great idea to start (even if it's just to doctors appointments, hospital visits, on public transit, etc.).

The negative responses to police abolition often seem to represent a general lack of imagination and education. I’m not saying you must believe in it, but the knee-jerk reaction is more often than not indicative of a misunderstanding of the relationship between poverty, racism, and crime.

When people are watching a genocide in real time over the course of years, and nothing meaningful is done to stop it, people are going to become desperate. Desperate people do desperate things. And I fear that this will be turned into propaganda. People will act as though it happened in a vacuum.

I believe fraternity hazing and military hazing and sports team hazing where men abuse each other is acclimating them into a broader culture of abuse where they will then believe it is their right to abuse other more vulnerable people. It’s so insidious. And that’s also why I think men defend it

Shoutout to the seven players who spoke up to say this. It’s infuriating that they’re essentially held hostage right now because school leadership doesn’t give a shit
“The head coach and his assistant coaches were all on the field on August 20, all remain in their positions, and together they decide our playing time, scholarship levels, and roster status,” the players wrote. “No one has separated us from them since that morning.

“We should not have to choose between telling the truth about August 20 and keeping what we have worked our whole lives for,” the players added.

In practice, AI literacy doesn’t start with building the tool for your personal use. It starts with understanding yourself as a collection of tasks who should subcontract those out to a machine. Almost no regular person’s life currently exists as such.

I called my local CVS on my monthly hunt for estradiol patches. The pharmacy worker empathized with me, saying she'd had 4 or so other calls in the past two days looking for it. She said "let's face it, if this medication was for men, it'd arrive for free on your doorstep every month, with a snack."
