I see a lot of frustration around MIGW events selling out quickly and better ways of allocating tickets via lottery systems or other schemes but everyone seems to be missing the clear solution. What we do is in Unreal Tournament 99 run some round robin events and allocate tickets accordingly.

In October last year I was fired by Rockstar Games in what we believe was a union busting move. We lost our home. We lost 2 jobs with my partner being forced to resign. We lost a community. Most importantly however we had to leave our two dogs behind, one of which will never return.

I've finally made progress on game #2. A whole rethink of the main mechanic has sped things up. Instead of bricks slowly checking for the right colour assignments, it's an instant laser. The whole game is very simple (too much maybe?) but now the challenge ramp feels good. #pico8

Working on the hyperspace logic. You select you destination while docked to the station, then leave the station and fly to the jump point, which triggers the jump. You then have to dock with the station before jumping again. (Still needs a warp animation.) #pico8

Termination without cause in Japan is complex and workers have a lot of rights and protections we don't in the US. If Japan had employment laws as weak as ours, Nintendo would undoubtedly lay off workers just the same. It's not management's benevolence or farsightedness, it's labor law.
