We have dozens of these giant mushrooms growing in our lawn and flower beds, and they look cool until they melt into piles of slimy shit

Note that atonement (or rehabilitation) does not compel forgiveness. Forgiveness is an act of grace, an act of discretion. The victim is never wrong to withhold forgiveness. You still have to atone even if you are never forgiven. And rehabilitation, whatever that means, is contingent on atonement.

I used to have a rule on my website that if eg. Edward's expulsion of Jews was important enough to mention on the page on medieval Judaism, then it had to also be on Edward's page. This rule really changed the tone of a lot of pages, I think very much for the better.

I haven’t seen a dentist in three years, I need to schedule a mammogram and get like three labs done and the cat has bloody snot so he probably needs to get to the vet and we’re dealing with a totally new drop-off/pick-up routines with two kids and two parents with fulltime jobs and ADHD.
