I guess I don't see what the point is, or the problem. Value judgments on art shouldn't be a factor -- art that's mid to me might be transformative to you. The problem here is AI literally can't be creative or original. It steals, eats and spits back out. It makes no choices. Creativity is human.

It isn’t just that current systems force artists to play the lottery to make a living, it’s that playing that lottery—constantly subbing work, applying to grants, applying to fellowships, etc—is itself a full-time job. The more you play, the more you win 🙃

This is so stupid. It’s possible to eat less or no meat AND not use AI slop tools; the either/or element of this article is dumb. I’ll got step further though and add this analysis elides *scale*. It’s like the author has no idea how much email gets sent every day.

I could be a pain in the arse about this because I'm a vegetarian. But I don't even need to do that. You have to eat. You don't have to use a machine to send an email, especially if that machine screws it up more often than not. This is false equivalence on steroids.

One, no one actually knows how much water generative AI uses because they won't release accurate figures. Two, yes, meat is terrible for the environment. It really is. It uses vast amounts of land and water. It would be good if everyone cut down. BUT: one is a crap email, the other is food.
