mine is multicolored, but the saturation is so low that it looks transparent except in very dim or bright light it flows horizontally from right to left, sometimes diagonally if the light isn’t very dim/bright, I barely perceive it unless I make an effort with my eyes closed, it’s Very Loud

Outside of order Carnivora, paw pads get a little more... diverse. Like here are kangaroo feet. Are those toe beans? Maybe? 🤷🦘 Lagomorphs like rabbits & hares lack toe beans, but pika have them. Mice & rats have a version of toe beans, squirrels too, but jerboa & lemmings have none.

One unusual trait shared in Carnivora: the paw pads are often the only part of the skin able to sweat. The sweat enhances grip on smooth surfaces, but it can also leave a scent trail, which is why some animals will paw at surfaces, to mark it with scent.
