New paper out today🌊🐟 Years of beach-seine data show that juvenile cod and saithe use fucoid adjacent nurseries but quite differently — and cod are much more strongly linked to coastal temperature. Very nice to see years of beach-seining turn into a paper. 💙 www.int-res.com/journals/mep...

First peek at our CODSPA acoustic #telemetry data from spawning cod in Eyjafjörður 🐟📡 Inner-fjord receivers retrieved, and already some different patterns of post-spawning presence. Very raw data — including no filtering for potential mortalities yet. Outer gates will tell us more next spring!

NOAA manages large ocean fisheries in US waters. Scientists there conduct surveys, sample fish, and run complex models to estimate the levels of sustainable catches. NOAA is recognized as a world leader in creating jobs, producing food, and avoiding overfishing. Kudos to NOAA fisheries!!!!
