Reading Whispers Under Ground. I’m quite glad I took so long to read the Peter Grant books, I think I would be faintly embarrassed at how much I enjoy them if I weren’t a late adopter, they really feel written for me specifically.

I have nothing against industrial estates in Bonnyrigg for the record, they're great places if you happen to want to start a light industrial concern. They're just not accessible compared to a city centre (it's a 30 minute walk from Eskbank station or 40 minute bus, every half hour, from Edinburgh)

This is your semi-regular reminder that pensioner poverty: a) is real b) is significantly less prevalent than working-age poverty and half the rate of child poverty, and c) is such that a pensioner is statistically more likely to live in a household worth over £1 million than to live in poverty

Great moments in Scottish engineering history: James Watt tries to work out how his phone attaches to his selfie stick.
Statue of James Watt. In his right hand he holds a telescopic stick with a frame at the top; in his left he holds a flat object about the size of a large smartphone. He is scowling at the possibly-not-a-smartphone as if he is tempted to yeet it into the sea. On that basis, it probably _is_ a phone.

Trump and US tech oligarchs signed an AI agreement that misspelled their own country’s name. Nobody outside the US has to call AI “super intelligence”—the document isn’t legally binding. Trump, whose name appears thousands of times in the Epstein files, called it “morally binding.”
The image shows Donald Trump's signature alongside a humorous typo that spells "Unites States" instead of "United States".

How is it possible? Because he told a personal, emotive story, sure. But also he told a moral story: using the funds to help establish a care service. It feels fair. And the decision to opt for a branded institutional structure with strong echoes of the NHS makes it tangible.

But back to your original question, no. Make it a filter instead, but I think even then, it might matter more who they are working with for some. People will likely have different lines in the sand and they will shift over time. Filters give you more flexibility as the industry shakes itself out.

Not only that, capacity – these have their own problems (they must be command-guided from the ground, and de-confliction is very difficult), but it is simply an available, cheap solution and, in some operational areas (South), more usable (and waaay cheaper) than the rotary wing.
