I see so many videos with Americans saying to a cop, ‘I’m going to call my lawyer’. Does every American have a lawyer’s phone number stored on their phone?? If I ever had to call a lawyer, I’d have to find out even which type of lawyer. I don’t think I’ve even spoken to a lawyer in my entire life.

We’re in the middle of a very large camping area where there are lots of horses around. I knew they were there, but I didn’t expect one to make a blowing noise maybe 12 feet away from my van door. It kind of snuck up on me in the dim light. 🤣

We look along towards the front of a white van, level with the side of it and with the left-hand side mirror just in view at the right of the image.

We see a large field ahead of us, with tall trees at the back meeting the deepening blue sky.

Right about mid-frame is a dark brown horse with its back end facing towards us, head down, eating grass.

The whole image is relatively dark, because it was taken not too long after sunset.

(If we look closely at the reflection in the side mirror, we can see Snoopy’s head on a blue pillow.)

We’re looking at the street sign of Aberdeen St (at the corner of Victoria St) in Brunswick, Victoria. If you can look closely at this image, you’ll spot the back end of a black and white dog. Image 7 of a series. #streetphotograhy

We see an image that is divided into almost exactly half by a building shown on the left side, and the road beside it and sky looking into the distance on the right side.

The building takes up almost the entire left side of the image except for a small amount of bitumen footpath below it.

The section of the building that we see is mostly red brick with a neatly white painted area on the top third. Some of the red brick has worn white paint on it, or perhaps the remainder of posters that have been removed. We look down low at a fire hydrant, so that it looks tall.

It’s night time, but we see the mostly cloudy sky in the background, with fuzzy patches of dark night sky showing through the cloud.

The white, metal fire hydrant is the main feature, taking up most of the left side the image. It has a red top on it, rounded and shiny. The white body is straight, dirty and rusty, as well as having an illegible graffiti tag in black paint pen spilling down most of the lower part. The top third of the main body joins the bottom part with large rusted bolts.

On the bitumen path closest to us, we see a small deep yellow plate set into the bitumen with crossing diagonal lines across it, and the upside down word ‘gas’ in capital letters. Dirt and plant detritus fill the indented parts of the plate, and tiny green plants seem to be growing well around the edges.

An empty road surface stretches beyond the hydrant with a white triangle painted on the road pointing towards the hydrant.

Further across the street we can see a short, light brown brick wall with an unpainted wooden fence on top of it. In front is another bitumen footpath, with determined greenery growing between the footpath and the gutter.

To the right we see a concrete path leading into the distance with parked cars lining the left side of the street, and a power pole with a street light on it, lighting up the cars below it.

Just before the parked cars is a yellow, diamond-shaped street sign with a flat line in black with a hump on it, to indicate a speed hump ahead. A smaller, rectangular sign under it shows a 20, and ‘km/hr’ under the number to suggest that 20 kilometres per hour is the speed to use over the speed hump.

Trees and bushes line both side of the narrow street, dark green in the low light, and brighter green where the street light falls.

Everything is lit up quite well, and shows in sharp contrast.

A thing I realised recently is that at over 50 years old now, for perhaps the last 10 years or more, I rarely lose eyelashes. I remember as a kids, I could pinch my eyelashes and pull, and maybe three eyelashes would come loose easily. It’s a kinda strange thing to change.
