Join us in prayer on World Mental Health Day. 🙏
A prayer for World Mental Health Day

Compassionate God,
 as you know each star you have created,
 so you know the secrets of every heart;
 in your loving mercy bring to your table
 all who are fearful and broken,
 all who are wounded and needy,
 that our hungers may be satisfied
 in the city of your peace;
 through Christ who is our peace.
 Amen.

All of this is from the executive summary. If you read the full report the foreword will give you more valuable context to the way this review has been done. From that: "young people today are contending with more powerful forces than I ever faced. They are not fragile. They are outnumbered."

Hey folks. In total honesty my tour is NOT selling well. I’ve sold 30 tickets in a 400 seater in Birmingham, and not much more elsewhere. If you like musical comedy, if you like standup, then please come see my show! And spread the word! The Rachel Parris Songbook tour starts in Nov! Link in bio! 🎶

What a great evening. A lovely walk through the fields, a meal with friends, surprise book club and then the Traitors. This month's book is The Artist. Such a beautiful binding. Hope the story is as good.

My daughter and I have started listening to the Rosamund Pike narrated audio book of Pride and Prejudice whenever we are in the car together. It is an absolute joy. I've loved P&P for decades, but I'm discovering how funny it is when I'm forced to listen to every word.

Things I have shouted during dinner: "DO NOT BRING YOUR FRIENDS HOME. I DO NOT WANT THEM IN THE HOUSE". Harsh? I should say that this was to the cat, on loudly announcing that he had brought a live mouse home.

My next summer read was "Just one damned thing after another" by Jodi Taylor. Easy to read, cleverly done, good characters, but I'm not rushing to read the next one in the series. I do like time travel and books which embrace the minutiae of institutions, but this was a bit too fast paced.

Yes, @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social , I agree with you. This is the best thing you have written. Loved it. For the best effect, it should be read during an excess of rain, rather than the ridiculous drought we have this year.
