ABC is bragging they've raised $2 mil to buy this election. But guess what -- they raised $650,000, double OneCity, last year, presumably to fight the byelection and got drubbed. That said, every $ helps us get our message out. onecityvancouver.ca/people/frances…

Police out of politics. In 2022 ABC's campaign manager Kareem Allam said, "We are extremely honoured to have the endorsement of the VPU." That was a dangerous precedent. Glad it's not happening again this election.

It shouldn't require a lawyer to run for office with your given name. We're fighting for the right to use my given Chinese name 陶思穎 on the ballot. If you agree that candidates should be able to use their given names on the ballot, donate to my campaign so I can fight for fairer representation.

I'm guessing Mayor Sim and team were a bit stung by this not-very-coherent response, plus all the negative stuff from many corners about them running a $500,000 survey, so they've posted a 15-pages "paper" with "footnotes" about their reasons over on Facebook ads

I’ve worked closely with a LOT of municipal politicians over my 34 years in city-making. Many come in thinking they already have all the answers. Some come in asking really good questions. I’ll talk with any Vancouver candidate who asks. @wazaroff.bsky.social has been asking great questions.

You know, ABC/Sim had the option to quietly ask staff not to bring the villages plan to council before the election. It's almost like they wanted to create a firestorm then swoop in to "save" the city. Interesting election strategy.

Political campaigning for a newbie like me has had a few surprise bumps, but one of the nicest parts is the people support. Today, a 30-something woman who looked like she was on her way to some important office on West Hastings called out “so excited to vote for you” when she saw my buttons.

New hyperscale AI data centres are coming to Vancouver. We need to make sure our laws are up to the task of regulating them, constraining bad actors, and addressing any risks to the community. I gave ABC a chance to do all of that. Instead, they voted the motion down, calling it 'red tape'.

This is something I’ve been talking about for years. There did used to be housing for extremely poor people —- and it was terrible. We’ve steadily made it more expensive to build but never wanted to admit that was making it unaffordable to the poorest or to fix the gap with subsidies
