Another UK Prime Minister, this time a Labour one, who has not read the Good Friday Agreement. The Northern Ireland Act also expressly provides there must be a referendum if certain conditions are met.

I find it fascinating that on a crowded rush hour bus, I still have a seat free beside me, with people preferring to stand. I think it’s because I always wear a mask on the bus.

Well this seems interesting and unsurprising archive.ph/vB0BP
Then there is the claim that ADHD is a social construct, not a neurodevelopmental condition. This is something Pemberton concludes after talking to neuroscientist Katya Rubia at King’s College London. Rubia says that while there is evidence of differences between the brains of people with ADHD and neurotypical people at the group level, it isn’t possible to diagnose ADHD from a brain scan.
She is right, of course. You can’t diagnose ADHD from brain scans. The same can be said for most, if not all, psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions. Most of these, like ADHD, are diagnosed by assessing symptoms and the effect they have on a person’s everyday ability to function. “My interview was hours long and they cherry-picked the bits that suited their push for presenting ADHD as a myth,” Rubia told New Scientist. “Biased programs like this one that push their view of ADHD as a mythical entity are irresponsible and will have detrimental effects.”

Things have become more interesting now that food companies have introduced the concept of loot boxes into their products. Will this pack contain a parasite? A deadly bacteria? A human thumb? Step right up and try your luck!

If consumer smart glasses must exist, then it should not be a technical issue for the software installed to recognize a "Do Not Record Me" command from someone in their frame and automatically block recording. That at least should kill demand from people using them to harass others.

I just looked up the publication date of the Chronicles of Narnia after thinking about the teacher who loaned me the copies I first read. The first book was about 39 years old at the time, and it has been about 39 years since I read it.

Thought this was a great picture of our two cats playing. Cleo is a 15 year old distinguished lady of the house and Nyx is approaching 2 and still has the joie de vivre. Here she is, wide eyed and preparing to launch herself from the tunnel, while Cleo watches carefully, fully aware of her antics.
A shot of Cleo, our distinguished older lady cat sitting on the sofa staring down Nyx, our young upstart kitty, who is preparing to launch from her cat tunnel across the living room. Cleo is a callico tabby, Nyx is a tuxedo.

Just rewatching “Flight of The Navigator” for the first time in 40 years and spotted a huge plot hole. Why does the delivery robot that the kid escapes in have a window *and* why does it immediately take him to the secret warehouse with the spaceship? I just can’t take it seriously.

The side of Morphett Street Bridge in Adelaide. A mural of a dark brown octopus swimming towards the right. On either side are stylised tags that I can’t decipher but look awesome. One is in different shades of orange and the other fades from dark purple to pink.
