The contrast between the utterly sycophantic coverage this week of Kemi Badenoch, whose party has a truly atrocious electoral record under her leadership, and the utterly dismissive coverage of the Greens, tells you everything you need to know about media bias in the UK

It would seem the Home Office has now acquired the ability to impose, without visibility or accountability, shadow bans on students coming to British universities from particular countries. How? Because of the interaction between indiv visa decisions (made by HO alone) and visa rules for unis 1/?

Not to mention an English man treated me so terribly that I haven’t dated in nearly five years. Yet I’d be accused of making it all up for a visa, if I ever got brave enough to report to any authority what he did.

Cannot repeat enough how much my mental and physical health have suffered since May 2025. I have lived here for a decade, paid my tuition fees and taxes, been a member of many communities, yet I’ve been shoved into limbo yet again for being undesirable. But I’m a foreigner, so none of that matters.

That’s just awful. My flatmate from my first masters a decade ago was from Pakistan, an absolutely brilliant woman who is doing great things for mental health advocacy. She was so brilliant in fact that she “beat” Theresa May’s system and worked here for a few years before taking her skills back.

This is very true. The last two years have been eye-opening, and not in a positive way. Too many people, even many of those who would think of themselves as progressive/centre left, are at best indifferent to what happens to immigrants, and unwilling to do anything to stand up for our rights.

Is the government going to change its policy so that more refugees can follow in her path and thrive in our country, then? Because their current immigration and asylum policy runs counter to this goal, making integration and settlement much harder for refugees (and immigrants more generally)

Another day of waking up in Britain and realizing that nobody here gives one single toss about immigrants. It’s either hatred or apathy, no actual care or help. I knew Labour would win, I didn’t think it would be by that much. And that’s an area more likely to at least be allies than most other.
