My take on this was that Hawk was overeager and she was feeling some pressure from that, and maybe had some people-pleasing tendencies, so she saw the issues and was reluctant but also wanted to try to find a way to make it work, even though she admitted later it was against her better judgement.

The accounting is in: In Oregon there are 111 data centers. The TOTAL number of people employed at data centers is just 2,630, or 0.1% of the labor force. Those 100 data centers consumer 23% of all electricity used in Oregon. Meanwhile, electricity rates skyrocket as more centers are built.

I do think it’s whorephobia that of all the Dolly tributes I’ve seen on TV tonight, not single one of them has mentioned how she starred in a movie called “The Best Little WHOREHOUSE in Texas” where she lovingly and respectfully portrayed a whorehouse madame.

Y'all, The Vampire Lestat was bad. Really, really bad. Not "the book was better" bad. More like "what the fuck did I just watch?" bad. The last two episodes were two of the most tedious two hours of media I've ever sat through. Sam Reid killed it though. (With what he was given to work with.)

Monday is the deadline for public comment! The Heritage Foundation has been mobilizing its members to leave comments in favor of the rule change, so every unique comment matters (don’t use a form letter or copy/paste—similar comments are batched and treated as one).

For folks asking why bother commenting because the OMB won't care: comments help build cases for the courts by explicitly laying out harms. That's why it's really important to have your comments be as specific as possible. Also, contact your senators and reps! They actually do care about this.

IDGAF if someone has an "unfair advantage" in children's sports because the point of children's sports is for children to move their bodies, play, and build team skills. They should be co-ed anyway, because in the big grown-up world boys and girls and thems need to work together.

It's 100% about bailing out developers who misjudged the market. Because it's not enough that we let developers basically run the housing market, to the detriment of pretty much anyone who isn't able to afford million dollar properties, we also have to protect the developers from their own mistakes.
