‘Why don’t the unions enter talks?’ Because DPER are won’t address concerns on pay. They want us to be more productive yet refuse to fully fund services, departments, public sector bodies etc. at one point this year I was doing the work of 4 people. It’s insane.

An important difference between next week’s proposed strike and the diesel dads is that unions have democratically accountable leadership, countable members, transparent processes and give plenty of notice before taking a measure like this. Unions are rural Ireland too!
