GDP is a junk metric & degrowth acknowledges that. If it doesn’t make sense to measure it going up, it doesn’t make sense to measure it going down. Degrowth calls for a reduction in material and energy throughput until we are respecting the planetary boundaries. “De” in Latin also means “away from”.
