My first thought trying some of those new Quake rooftop maps is that Quake's default jump height is ass. Also, has moving diagonally always been slower than walking straight? That also feels awful.

So yeah, I just bumped the max quality down a notch. At this point I don't know what the problem is and I don't really care. For all I know it could be a driver bug.

That included removing any fancy/unusual elements related to lighting. Everything got reset to default. (And FWIW, I would hope that there's no arrangement of content created in the stock editor where crashing would be an acceptable outcome.)

Here's the context: This project had been authored in UE 5.3. I'd finally managed to port it to 5.8, and everything was working except for a crash in the last third. I tried a whole lot of small, targeted changes.
